The design is based on two elements and is grounded with the snake in the center. The top half is folk-art-style floral elements, while the bottom a topographic map of Horsetooth Mountain.

Horsetooth Mountain is a favorite trail for the locals of Fort Collins. Located in the foothills of northern Colorado it is one of many trails known for rattlesnakes.
